Mike McGlynn entered three track events in the World Masters Track & Field Championships held in Edmonton, Canada this July - the 1500 meter run, the 5000 meter run and the 800 meter run.  Mike earned a Gold Medal in the 800 Meters, a Bronze Medal in the 5000 Meters and placed 4th in the 1500 Meter run in the 55 - 59 year old category.  

Barbara Van Syckle attended a national conference in Poland this summer ,serving on the European Council of Business Education in Krakow and Katowice. She has been invited back in October to give the inaugural address to the year's opening at the Katowice School of Economics.
                                                            

Heather Abner is JCC's new Adjunct Coordinator. Heather's office is located in Bert Walker 232 right next to the new Adjunct workroom and conference room.  
Welcome new full time faculty members:  Diana Agy in Composition, Christopher Kaser in Automotive, Erin Mazur in Nursing, Dave Nadolski in Speech,  Kimberly Salinas in DMS.
 

Jody Rooney, Mathematics, attended The Teaching Professor, her first non-math conference. She found the session on "Baiting the Hook in College Classrooms:  The Role of Attention in Learning"  the most interesting.
 

Norm Maison, Psychology, attended two conferences: “Integrative Psychiatry and Frontal Lobe and Executive Dysfunction: Critical Implications for Psychiatric Practice,” and “The Aging Brain: Latest Clinical Finding."
 

Debby Davies, Language, Literature and Arts, published a book of poetry entitled Mary and Martha. The poems, written over many years, are about family, friends, writing, and teaching.
 

Sandra Brown, Carol Hoch, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and Joe Shackelford, Radiography , completed their masters degree this August from Spring Arbor College.
 

Sue Wood and Dianne Hill, Computer Information Systems, completed training in computer software to take on new assignments in the department.

Laura Thurlow, Biology, attended an NSF Chautauqua Workshop on “Forensics and DNA Analysis” in Austin, Texas last summer.
