Excellence in Learning
What is the Excellence in Learning Award?
Because we believe good grades are not the only indicator of successful
learning, JCC has established an award to specifically recognize learning
excellence in ways not tied to course grades.
Who is eligible?
Students who demonstrate initiative, commitment, enthusiasm, or
performance in the pursuit of learning are eligible for this award.
Although this is not strictly an academic award, students who show
exceptional ability in one course or discipline are certainly eligible,
as are students who are committed to learning but whose transcripts may
not fully reveal their dedication.
How are students nominated?
Nominations are sent to the department chair or academic director by
faculty in each department. Each award winner receives a certificate of
commendation, and the ceremony is an expression of our recognition of
student excellence.

Learning Convocation
was held on Tuesday, April 17,
from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the
Baughman Theater.
