Thank you for visiting Jackson Community College!
Daniel J. Phelan
I am very honored and excited to be a part of the
growth and advancement occurring at JCC, and invite you to visit the many
web-pages available at the JCC website. As you can imagine, the higher education
environment is constantly changing and evolving, presenting along the way new
opportunities for JCC to respond with important initiatives, goals, and
activities.
While Michigan faces economic
struggles, one constant remains: education is key. Forecasters say that
growing our Michigan economy will require workers with a combination of
knowledge, which comes through education, as well as creativity and
entrepreneurship.
In this website you will find the many ways that all at JCC
demonstrate their commitment to providing the highest quality education and
college experience possible for our students. Signs of change are also
visible all around all JCC locations. Enrollment is up, more students are being
served, two new buildings have opened on the Jackson campus, and
Hillsdale’s LeTarte Center has been renovated, all to provide state-of-the-art
technology, and the best learning opportunities for our students.
Now, looking to the future, this brings me to a question I’ve
posed to college faculty, staff and students: What kind of world do you
want? What kind of future do you see for yourself, your community, your state?
What role can you take to make that happen? We continue to examine our programs
and facilities to make improvements where necessary, so that JCC continues to
provide the quality education necessary for the future, just as it has for
over 80 years.
