Computer Workshop Series

Sign up now to attend one or the complete series of two-hour, hands-on workshops for free! Each Saturday session will take place in a JCC computer lab, run by staff and student workers with plenty of skill and enthusiasm to help you learn and enjoy using your personal computers. Plus, a full hour of personalized attention is available to you at the end of each session. You can attend one or all sessions, but must call to reserve your spot in the computer lab. Workshops run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with one hour of personalized attention available immediately following.

Session 1: Photo media

October 17, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Will cover the “how-to’s” of digital camera and camera phone downloads, just in time for Christmas!

Session 2: Make sense of Email

November 18, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Understand the ins and outs of email, and learn about different email carriers.

Session 3: Brush up on your Word

December 16, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Learn techniques and tricks you never knew existed in Microsoft Word (or knew they did, but were afraid to ask!)

Session 4: Excel at Excel

January 20, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Gain a better understanding of this most powerful database application – just in time for tax season!

Session 5: Basic PowerPoint - Anyone Can!

February 17, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Learn how to make a wonderful presentation with slides, text, and your own creativity. Come see how easy it really is! Not for business only... you can organize slides and pictures in an online presentation.

Session 6: Hardware – Understanding your Computer

March 17, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Don’t let that tangle of plugs and cords overwhelm you again! Learn about the what, where, and why of your physical computer while learning to tear down, put together and troubleshoot.
