Ted Neeley in the title role of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar first exploded onto the stage in 1971 and it was clear that the musical world would never be the same again. Jesus Christ Superstar is a dramatized version of the last seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth. Featuring such notable songs as “Superstar,” “Everything’s Alright” and “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” Jesus Chris Superstar earned five TONY nominations.
