  • Employee Benevolence Fund

    In October of 2006, the JC Foundation established the JC Employee Benevolence Fund to provide assistance to full and part time employees who experience an extraordinary emergency need. This fund is administered through the JC Foundation. An Employee Benevolence Committee has been formed to coordinate the disbursement of funds when requests have been received. The committee’s work is nonpolitical, humanistic, and focused on assisting JC employees. The Foundation has been given the discretion to approve emergency requests within the following guidelines and budget parameters set by the Benevolence Committee.

    CRITERIA

    • A disaster experienced by a current JC employee or his/her family and a need for funds or services.
    • Items covered may include child care, travel, or lodging related to a family emergency; meals incidental to a medical situation; continuance of insurance premiums for prolonged illness or disability; medical equipment and supplies, and other expenses incurred relating to an emergency situation.
    • The maximum award equals $500.

    Requests for emergency funds may either be initiated by a colleague, or the individual in need. Please complete the application.

  • Enterprise Rent-A-Car

    JC Employees now receive a discount when renting a car through Enterprise Rent-A-Car.  Tell them you are from Jackson College and give them the following code: XZ20310 to receive the discount.

  • FedEx & U.P.S Services

    Need to send an overnight letter? U.P.S. or Federal Express envelopes are available at the switchboard. Complete the delivery information and indicate that the bill should be sent to you. You then pay the carrier directly. To go out the same day it must be to the switchboard by 1:00 P.M., items received after 1:00 P.M. will be picked up in the morning of the next business day. Contact the switchboard, extension O, for more information.

    Need to mail a box or have a box delivered to you? You can drop off your packed box at Shipping and Receiving to be shipped via United Parcel Service. Be sure to put your return address and the delivery address inside the box. Type out or print very neatly the shipping address and your name on a piece of paper and tape to the box (you do not need to do a shipping label our computerized system will print the label).

    You can have U.P.S. make a personal delivery for you at JC Shipping and Receiving. Make sure that it has your name and the JC address. We will sign for it and then notify you that it has arrived. You just need to come to Shipping and Receiving in the Campus Services Building and pick it up. Contents damaged or not what you wanted? You are responsible for the return or resolving any damage claim.

  • Free/Reduced Tuition

    Don’t forget about the JC tuition waiver for when you, your spouse or dependents take JC classes. Full-time faculty, staff, and administration receive free tuition at JC. Part-time faculty, and staff accrue tuition credits. Contact Human Resources for more information.

    Siena Heights University gives Jackson College full-time employees, who have been employed for at least one year, a fixed dollar discount of $80 per credit hour for both bachelor’s and master’s degree courses.  Call extension 8672 for more information.

    Franklin University is offering both full and part time employees a discount on tuition.  The undergraduate discount is 15%, while the graduate discount is 10%.

  • Health Clinic

    Jackson College has partnered with Allegiance Health to offer JC students and employees medical care evaluation and treatment from the clinic’s caring staff. A licensed nurse practitioner and technical staff will be in the office to see patients, make diagnosis and assessment, prescribe medications or make referrals. JC nursing and allied health students will also help as part of their education.

    JC partners with Allegiance Health’s It’s Your Life Program to offer health management options to JC employees.

    Information is key. That is why the first step to health management is to provide you with information about your health. You can do this by completing a Health Risk Appraisal online. Once you have submitted your information, you’ll have access to a personalized health report, which will identify priority health focus areas for you.

    Then, armed with your health report, you can speak with an It’s Your Life Health Coach. Health Coaches are trained in exercise science, nutrition, tobacco cessation, and health behavior change. Together, you and your Health Coach will review your health risks and develop health improvement goals and a personalized wellness plan.

    Participant costs for Staff will be paid by the College in accordance with the ESP Agreement, all others must pay to participate.

  • On-Site Day Care

    Need day care for your child? ABC Academy operates a day care center on the campus of Jackson College. Priority for enrollment is given to students and then to JC employees before enrollment is opened to the public. Call 768-9323 for more information. JC students and employees receive a 5% discount.

    Plastics can be recycled on the Central Campus at five locations:

    1. On the east side of Potter Center by the Bookstore entrance.
    2. On the west side of the Fieldhouse at the main entrance.
    3. Between McDivitt and Atkinson Halls.
    4. Outside the main door at Campus View.
    5. On the south courtyard at Whiting Hall.
    6. Jets Hanger all-in-one bin for paper/plastic/metal/glass

    Paper can be recycled in each of the buildings. Potter Center bins are in the back hallway near the Federer Rooms and the other buildings have bins under the stairways. Go GREEN!

  • Staff Tuition Reimbursement Program

    The College has established a tuition reimbursement program with an annual budget of $10,000.00. ESP bargaining unit members may apply to participate in the program and those accepted will receive reimbursement for coursework not offered at JC. Reimbursement will be the amount equal to the current JC tuition rate and will only be paid when the employee provides verification of successful completion of the course (2.0 or higher). ESP bargaining unit members participating in this program agree to continue their employment for a period of one year for each 24 credits covered, on a pro-rated basis, or refund the tuition reimbursement received. Applications must be submitted by April 1st for the coming academic year.

  • Vision Tire and Auto

    Vision Tire and Auto has extended a 10% discount on parts and labor, excluding tires, to all employees of Jackson College. They are located at 4249 Page Avenue, right across from the Veterans Administration.  Make sure to mention the discount when arranging service. Pick-up and delivery service is free.

  • Workout Facilities

    On the  Central Campus, eligible employees can use the fitness center which is located in the Victor Cuiss Fieldhouse. Hours are available upon request. Lifetime Learning (LTL) Courses is excluded from tuition grants with the exception of one (1) LTL Health and Physical Fitness course per semester.

    Hillsdale employees and students now qualify for a discount at Anytime Fitness located in the Market House Plaza 2010 W. Carleton Road, Hillsdale. Your membership includes 24 hour access to all Anytime fitness facilities and tanning at the Hillsdale location only for a low price of $29.99 per month for 12 months, along with a $30 processing fee.  Any additional members from the same household will also be $29.99 per month, along with $30 processing fee. Please show your JC ID to receive this discount.

    JC has partnered with the Lenawee YMCA to offer Health and Physical Fitness classes. Eligible employees may use their tuition credits to participate in these classes.

    Lenawee employees and students now qualify for discounts at The Fitness Connection in Tecumseh, just show your id and JC employees receive 20% off, while students receive nearly 40% off!
