Catholic Charities of Jackson-407 S. Mechanic, 1522 S. Community Action Agency/Salvation Army-806 E Pearl Street.  Volunteers are needed to assist with the Senior Food Distribution.  Event occurs every 2nd Thursday of the month from 10am-2pm.  1-12 people are needed to help seniors with food item selection and assist with loading items in their cars.  For more information contact Dan Hicks at 269-579-4613.

Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect- 606 Greenwood Place- Opportunities to volunteer exist for light cleaning and various clerical tasks as well as general maintenance and help with special projects.  Actively looking for committee and board members.  For more information contact Sarah Weber at 517-788-4239.

Fitness Council of Jackson-225 N. Jackson St. "Community Bikes!" program turned 100 donated bicycles into transportation for people in need.  Each bike is distributed with a helmet & training on safe & effective cycling.  We need fun-loving people with an interest in bikes to help us repair donated bikes, or assist instructors with bike classes.  Mechanical & cycling experience is great, but not required.  Contact Scott TenBrink at 517-990-9798 for more information or www.fitnesscouncil.org, info@.fitnesscouncil.org

Greater Jackson Habitat for Humanity-1207 Pringle Ave. - Volunteers are needed to help operate, clean and price inventory for the re-store.  Volunteers will assist with data entries, pick up donated items and receive and sort items at the store. Hospice of Jackson and Oaklawn- One Jackson Square - Volunteers needed for: friendly visitors for patients, support group facilitators, massage therapists, deliveries, office work, fund raising and event workers. Jackson District Library- 244 W. Recycling Jackson- Volunteers are always needed at the Recycling Drop off Site located off of Brown St., behind the Home Depot.  Volunteers will assist patrons with dropping off and sorting recycling items.  The drop off site is open the 1st & 3rd Saturdays of the month except on holiday weekend from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM.  Volunteers can just show up.  Web site: www.recyclingjacksonmi.org.

RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program)- 407 S. Mechanic St. - Three opportunities: 1. Volunteers 55 and older who can volunteer 1-20 hours per week for nonprofits in Jackson County 2. Volunteer drivers for seniors over 60 and veterans to medical appointments, grocery shopping and prescription pickup 3.
