Rachelle Teller

1999 - 2000 Winner

RachelleNominated by Aurelie Seward

Rachelle was also chosen as the Student Employee of the Year for the State of Michigan.

Rachelle Teller is a student computer consultant with Information Technology. She has distinguished herself as an outstanding student worker because of her initiative, willingness to go beyond requirements, and her special contributions working with staff and faculty.

Rachelle has learned to help faculty and staff with special projects by getting clear ideas of what they want, trying out the idea, getting responses, and then reworking the idea until the finished product matches the JCC employee's idea. Her willingness to go out of her way to help staff and faculty with special projects makes her a valuable resource not only for IT but also for the college community. She tackles the most daunting projects, adjusts her schedule to meet the needs of the faculty or staff requesting assistance and shares her talent freely. Primary projects that Rachelle has completed:

  • Collaborated with Nursing to complete a web site and on-line newsletter
  • Collaborated with Human Resources to complete the Human Resources web site
  • Created a PowerPoint presentation for admissions staff to use in orientation
  • Created a PowerPoint presentation with Dan Livingston in collaboration with the Enterprise Institute for DaimlerChrysler

Rachelle is currently finishing a web site for the graphic design program in collaboration with Suzanne Wood. In addition, Rachelle takes great responsibility among her peers, mentoring new student employees, and is currently in charge of:

  • Directing the crew of six students that creates and revises the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on JCC's web site (over 100 FAQs at this time)
  • Managing the printing and distribution of lab handouts
  • Directing the crew of four students that works on web issues with Dave Fitzgerald (Distance Learning)

We appreciate your work Rachelle, you have given JCC a great deal. Thank you.
