Amir Orandi

"Amir Orandi receives the nomination from Information Technology for Student Employee of the Year. If I were asked who has been the best student consultant in the past fifteen years, I would respond without hesitation that it is Amir Orandi.

He is reliable and responsible beyond the norm and does not fail to be where he is supposed to be, completing all requirements and more. More importantly, he insists on the finest quality work and client care, checking back with clients to make sure the problem is resolved, double checking equipment to ensure proper operation. Even better, Amir has the highest standards when interacting with all people, exhibiting not just professionalism but also politeness and concern for people's needs.

A few of his contributions to JCC include: active participation on the staff and faculty Web Liaisons team and AQIP Writing team #4 (Valuing People); Web Page design/revision/consultation for the Center for Student Success (For Faculty pages, online form for Early Alerts, Service Learning page), the Office of Multicultural Affairs, Student Development, Student Parliament, the Dean's Page, Phi Theta Kappa, the Solution Center HEAT pages, and more in the future. One of his web clients says: "He expands the possibilities thought available and brings energy and creativity to our projects."

Amir also works with the Software Team as a team leader, working independently to resolve requests and in a team member to complete projects. He has also been a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) Team Leader for a year and is now training a new leader to take his place. The FAQ Team creates and distributes over 200 FAQs for use by employees and students.

Amir maintains a positive attitude regardless of circumstance and helps those around him to see their world as good no matter the conflict or pressures. This attitude, of course, assists a clear focus to resolve problems. Thus, Amir creates a whirlwind of good surrounding him which in turn engenders a productive and pleasant work environment.

Our only difficulty is keeping up with Amir. His enthusiasm for work and for JCC never lags and is a constant reminder of how lucky we are to be here at JCC. Please consider Amir Orandi for Student Employee of the Year."
