Statista – A database that makes statistics fun! Provides access to a huge variety of international statistics, covering everything from music to gun control to poverty rates. Everything is easily downloadable and there are a lot of ways to manipulate the data.
When accessing databases off-campus, users are prompted to input their college ID and password.
We recommend using either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox when using our databases. These browsers are required to view full-text articles in PDF.
Academic OneFile (InfoTrac) – Large collection of peer-reviewed, full-text periodicals covering multiple disciplines. A great starting point for any research project! Librarian Recommended
OmniFile formerly WilsonSelect (EBSCO) – Contains the full-text of many academic journals and covers almost every area of academic study. Librarian Recommended
Credo Reference – A collection of over 600 academic reference volumes – your one-stop resource for topic overviews! Think of it like Wikipedia, but you can actually cite it in your reseach papers!
CINAHL (Nursing) – The definitive database for nursing and allied health research. Includes full-text articles, evidence-based care sheets, and much more!
Criminal Justice (Criminal Justice) – Comprehensive collection supporting research in criminal justice. Includes full-text scholarly articles, law enforcement trade publications, crime reports, and other materials relevant to research in criminal justice.
ERIC (Education) – Huge collection of education-related journal articles from peer-reviewed sources. Full-text availability is currently limited, but expanding.
JSTOR (Humanities) – Scholarly articles from almost 1,800 journals on subjects including anthropology, education, history, literature, philosophy, and sociology. Free version – you will need to set up an account with JSTOR to access articles.
Science Magazine (Science) – Published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, this online platform offers complete and full-text access to Science Magazine, the premier general science publication. Content available includes journal and news articles, career information, and media (podcast/video) resources.
InfoTrac (Multi-disciplinary)– Large collection of databases covering many disciplines. Use this link to search all InfoTrac databases or to select a specific database.

Do you need an article that Jackson College’s library doesn’t have in its collection? We can get it for you! Fill out our ILL Request Form to get the item from another library through Inter-Library Loan. ILL is free and provides access to both articles and books.
