Research Databases-Literature Research

Students conducting literature research (often known as literary criticism) have access to two specialized databases through JCC's Library.

These databases are provided through Jackson District Library and access requires an active JCC/JDL Library Card with Pin Number. Library cards are available at the JCC Circulation Desk.

Children's Literature Comprehensive Database (CLCD)

  • This database provides a wealth of information related to Children's Literature, including book lists, book reviews, information on authors, lesson plans and links to web resources. Searchable by title, author and genre.
  • Helpful resource for parents, teachers and students.

Literature Research Center (Jackson District Library)

This database is provided through Jackson District Library and access requires an active JDL Library Card with Pin Number. JDL cards are available at the JCC Circulation Desk.

  • This database contains biographies of world authors and criticism of their writings from the famous Gale collection of literature reference books.
  • The link for this databases takes users to the Jackson District Library website. At the JDL site, select Online Resources and follow the directions for accessing sites from Home or Office.
  • This database includes several sources of information, including author profiles, bibliographies, work overviews, and criticism. Many entries are full-text and include graphics.
