Math and Science Saturday Conference

Jackson Community College hosted a math and science conference on Saturday, May 11, 2013 for local secondary and college students, as well as educators and members of the broader community. The conference feature breakout sessions presented by JCC faculty, area educators, and researchers from Michigan State University and Eastern Michigan University. The focus for session topics was on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM); and many activities throughout the day created opportunities for all to explore more in the STEM fields.

Keynote speakers for the day were astronauts, Col. Gregory Johnson, Shuttle astronaut, and Col. Al Worden, command module pilot on Apollo 15 and a Jackson native. Cost to attend the conference was only $10 and included lunch.
