Continuing
Ed Director Tapped to Head Downtown Center
Jackson Community College is pleased to announce the selection of Marian
Burlingham as the new Director of the College's Robert L. Johnson
Downtown Center.
Marian
has worked with JCC for 12 years in the Center for Continuing Education,
beginning as a program developer and most recently serving as Director of
Continuing Education. She
works well with faculty and staff throughout the college and has
implemented many creative opportunities for continuing education, which
will assist her in this new endeavor.
The number of Continuing Education course offerings and enrollment
has increased each year under Burlingham's leadership.
In addition, her experience with environmental scanning,
scheduling, and course development provide a strong background for her new
responsibilities as a Center Director.
She will be transitioning from Continuing Education to the Downtown
Center in the coming weeks.
"I
am excited about this new opportunity and look forward to working with
area schools and with businesses in the downtown area to continue to make
the Johnson Downtown Center a warm, friendly place for students to
learn," Burlingham said.
In
addition to her service to JCC, Marian serves on the Greater Jackson
Chamber of Commerce Economic Club Committee, the board of the Council for
the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, and the board of the Jackson
Education Fund, a division of Jackson Public Schools.
She resides in Summit Township and has one 16-year-old daughter.
