Forum Planned to Introduce Students to Teaching
12:30-1:30, September 12
& October 2
Want to change the world? Become
a teacher! Jackson Community College will host an Education Forum
entitled "Fact & Fiction: Everything You Wanted to Know About
Teacher Education," on Wednesday, September 12, to introduce
students and community members to the opportunities in the field of
teacher education. Forums will meet at 12:30 p.m. in the George E. Potter
Center, Federer Room B.
All potential teachers are welcome to attend this informational
session presented by Mary Belknap, education program coordinator for JCC.
The session will cover a variety of questions those considering
teaching as a career need to know, such as deciding what major or minor to
choose, basic skill testing, JCC resources and much more.
Students will have the opportunity to meet other students in the
same area and build some networks, and meet education faculty members whom
they may see in the classroom.
The event is open to current
students and the community at large.
For more information, contact Mary Belknap at (517) 796-8575. The next education forum will be held Tuesday, October 2,
from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Forums
made possible through the Jackson Community College Foundation.
