Oktoberfest Celebrates Health Careers

Sunday, October 21, noon to 3 p.m.

Jackson Community College's Departments of Allied Health and Nursing will celebrate Oktoberfest by giving the community a close-up look at the career opportunities available in the health sciences on Sunday, October 21, from noon to 3 p.m. in Justin Whiting Hall.   Explore the numerous career options available in the health sciences area, which you can complete in one, two or three years.

Learn about the many career options available with JCC programs, including nursing (registered nurse and licensed practical nurse), diagnostic medical sonography (ultrasound), vascular sonography, emergency medical service (paramedic and EMT), medical assistant, medical receptionist/transcriptionist, and medical receptionist/insurance biller.  JCC also offers transfer programs in medical laboratory technology, dental hygiene, medical sciences (pre-medicine, pre-dentistry and pre-chiropractic), physical therapy and pre-veterinary science.  Admissions representatives will be on hand to answer questions on how to get started in these studies.  Current students will be on hand to answer any questions as well.

A number of demonstrations and other activities are planned, along with free refreshments.  For more information, contact Steve Geiersbach, (517) 796-8494.
