Holiday
Bazaar to Benefit Dahlem Center
Saturday & Sunday,
December 1&2, George E. Potter Center
Searching for that truly unique holiday gift?
How about a natural beeswax candle or one-of-a-kind evergreen
wreath? Find these and much
more when the Dahlem Environmental Education Center at Jackson Community
College and the Michigan Audubon Society will host their annual Holiday
Bazaar on December 1&2 in the Federer Rooms of the George E. Potter
Center. The event will run from 10-4 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 4
p.m. Sunday.
Choose from a selection of gift
ideas from the Audubon and Dahlem Gift Shop materials and more at this
year's event. Hand-made
items will be created and donated by volunteers with proceeds going to
support educational programs and services of either the Michigan Audubon
Society or the Dahlem Environmental Education Center.
Featured sale items include: unique hand-crafted gifts and tree
trims, fresh wreaths and door sprays, beeswax candles, hand-knit items,
animal puppets, jewelry and clothing.
There will be bird feeding supplies, such as suet and seed feeders,
and a truckload sale on birdseed (sunflower, thistle, and wild bird
mixes).
An
added attraction is the Friends of Dahlem "bake sale" which features
cookies, cakes, holiday breads and other homemade treats.
Bring the kids along as well - from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, they
can make their own finger puppets, or enjoy holiday stories with puppets
from Nancy McCormack at 1 & 3 p.m. Saturday.
Gift memberships and additional
information will also be available for both organizations.
The Dahlem Center, located just west of JCC's main campus at 7117
S. Jackson Road, Jackson, features 300 acres and five miles of
trails.
