Catch the Halloween "Spirit" at Dahlem Goblin
Walks
Magic and
mystery will abound during Dahlem's Goblin Walks, a family-oriented
Halloween celebration (minus the blood and guts).
The Dahlem Environmental Education Center, 7117 S. Jackson Road,
Jackson, is the stage for the October 25-26 event. Come see the imaginative scarecrows, experience the 100-plus
pumpkins illuminating the path, meet the trailside characters, and gather
around the bonfire for refreshments and songs.
Come
costumed, if you like, and bring along your own little trickers and
treaters. Hikes last just
over an hour and leave the building at 15-minute intervals, beginning at 7
p.m. Admission is $3 for Dahlem members, $5 for non-members.
Reservations are required and can be made by phone with a credit
card, in person or call for a mail-in reservation form.
Early registration is suggested as popular times fill
quickly.782-3453.
Want to
really get in the spirit? Get
your co-workers, family or organization together and enter a scarecrow in
Dahlem's Scarecrow Contest! There
is no entry fee and prizes will be awarded.
Scarecrows need to be self-standing and weather-tolerant.
Set-up is slated for Wednesday, October 23. Call for details, 782-3453.
