Nature
Moves Indoors at Holiday Bazaar
December 6-7, Potter
Center
Music will fill the air and the scent of beeswax (candles),
evergreens and baked goods will waft from the JCC Federer Rooms in Potter
Center when Dahlem Center and Audubon team up for their annual Holiday
Bazaar on December 6-7. Hours
for this year's Bazaar are noon to 4 p.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4
p.m. on Saturday.
Crafts and gift shop merchandise target nature lovers and outdoor
enthusiasts of all ages. Handmade
items are created and donated by volunteers with proceeds going to support
educational programs and services of either the Audubon Society or the
Dahlem Environmental Education Center.
New this year is a variety of handmade garden accessories (garden
& deck pots, butterfly puddle stones, decorative birdhouses, etc.).
Other featured sale items include: unique hand-crafted gifts and
tree trims, fresh wreaths & door sprays, beeswax candles, bird-feeding
supplies and seed, nature-related books, hand-knit items, animal puppets,
jewelry, clothing and the famous Friends of Dahlem "bake sale."
Bring the kids along on Saturday afternoon for a free make-n-take
craft session. Volunteers
will be on hand between noon and 3 p.m. to help youngsters make their own
snowmen to decorate a table or tree.
Shoppers can also join their voices with selected volunteers in
holiday caroling at 1:45 p.m. on Friday and/or 11:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. on
Saturday.
Gift memberships and additional information will also be available
for both organizations.
