JCC
Joins UM-Dearborn in Articulation Agreement
A new articulation agreement between Jackson Community College and the
University of Michigan-Dearborn will allow JCC students to complete a
bachelor's degree in general studies online and receive the same
benefits as traditional students when transferring credits toward a
bachelor's degree at UM-Dearborn.
"UM-Dearborn and Jackson Community College are both institutions
that are based on collaboration and partnerships," said UM-Dearborn
Chancellor Daniel Little. "Half of the students who attend UM-Dearborn
are non-traditional students, so articulation agreements like this one are
very, very important to us."
Whether they are enrolled in online or traditional campus courses,
the agreement allows Jackson students who earn an associate of arts,
science, applied science, or general studies degree to transfer a maximum
of up to 62 credits toward the bachelor of general studies degree at
UM-Dearborn.
"This agreement is about serving our students and helping them be
as successful as they can," according to Daniel
J. Phelan, president of Jackson Community College.
Jackson
Community College, located in Jackson, Mich., has its main campus in
Summit Township, with centers in downtown Jackson, and in Adrian and
Hillsdale.
