Dahlem
to Offer Sunday Travel Series
Fasten your seatbelt. and get ready for the return of Dahlem
Center's OUTDOOR ADVENTURE Travel Series, slated for Sunday
afternoons beginning on January 12.
Slide/video programs (narrated by local travelers) are scheduled to
begin at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. in Dahlem Center's classroom at 7117 S.
Jackson Road. Admission is $3 per session (free to DEEC members) and
pre-reservations are requested (782-3453).
Dahlem volunteers Joan and Roger Block will kick off the series by
inviting participants to share the adventures (and misadventures) of a
'60s camping trip to the West Coast with their young family. Their road
trip includes humorous and picturesque stops in many of the National Parks
of old. An updated look at some of these same spots and backroad
discoveries will be included in the January 19 "Wandering West"
session. Our guides will be wildlife filmmaker/educator Myrna Berlet and
her husband, Don Dutcher, a long-time member of the Jackson Camera Club.
In subsequent weeks, we'll travel from the skies over Jackson to the
plains of Africa, the Canadian North, the Galapagos Islands and the
Pacific Northwest.
