'S' is for Silly
Songs, Smiles and Small Creatures

Do you like to Sing Silly songs or do you have a great Smile
and like to share it with other people?
Are you the kind of youngster that enjoys learning about and
looking for Small creatures? Do
you wonder what creatures are still lurking around during the fall?
Are there any insects or any other crawling creatures hiding in the
woods? If any of these things
are true and you are between the ages of 5 and 10 years old, then the
Dahlem Environmental Education Center, a facility of Jackson Community
College, is the place for you on Saturday, October 5 at 10 a.m. for
another "Creature Feature."
Be prepared to search inside and out while being a sleuth of the world's
small creatures with Naturalist Susan Larson.
Starting inside youngsters will be introduced to some silly songs
such as "My Brother Eats Bugs" and a short story or two.
Once outside the youngsters will use their nature detective skills
in hopes of finding some small creatures.
Since creatures have their own mind and daily habits the guarantee
of finding an abundant number of critters is unpredictable, but there is a
guarantee of meeting a mystery live small creature.
Before departing for home, youngsters will use their creative
skills and make a take home craft.
Break out of your Saturday routine. Come
join us for a "Creature Feature" on Saturday, October 5, at 10
a.m. Fees for the morning
activities are $3 for non-members, and members are free.
