Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme Cancel Spring Concerts

            Entertainers Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme have cancelled all of their upcoming spring performances because of health reasons.  Lawrence and Gorme had been scheduled to perform at Jackson Community College's Potter Center on May 1.

            Gorme has been diagnosed with a severe case of labyrinthitis - an inner ear imbalance that causes vertigo.  Her doctor has advised her not to travel, according to a news release from her management company, because this condition could possibly last for months. 

            "I am deeply disappointed that I won't be able to perform this spring," Gorme said.  "Steve and I are devoted to our fans and look forward to returning to the concert stage very soon."

            A replacement act for Steve & Eydie is in negotiation, according to Cindy Allen, JCC's vice president of institutional advancement, who expects to book another performer soon.  Potter Center season ticket holders will be notified of the replacement act, and any ticket holders for the Steve & Eydie show will have the option of keeping their tickets or returning them for a refund.
