New foundation director Mitchell Blonde joins JCC

Mitchell Blonde

Jackson Community College is pleased to welcome Mitch Blonde as the new executive director of the Jackson Community College Foundation and director of philanthropy and planned giving.

Blonde comes to JCC from Bowling Green State University, where he worked as a major gift officer and helped with the Building Dreams Campaign to raise $120 million. Before that, he was director of annual giving at Adrian College where he gained a wide variety of experiences with many areas of the College's development efforts. Blonde started his career in the marketing department at Mercy Hospital in Port Huron. He earned his bachelor's degree from Adrian College, a master's degree from Siena Heights University, and holds a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential.

"I hope to help JCC increase support from all constituent areas," Blonde said. "I think a couple areas of real opportunity lay in Lenawee and Hillsdale counties, and I would like to engage them more meaningfully."

Blonde resides in Adrian with his wife, Dawn. Away from the office, he is a member of the St. Mary of Good Counsel Church in Adrian, where he serves on the finance committee and helps to count collections monthly. He is also a member of the Adrian City Zoning Board of Appeals.

"I'm very excited to be on board at JCC -- I've learned very quickly that the College is truly a community asset. I look forward to many successful years working with our donors to build an even brighter future for our students."
