Instructional Skills Workshop planned

Jackson Community College will host an Instructional Skills Workshop for current teachers and teacher education students utilizing a highly successful teaching model to enhance skills. It may be taken for two graduate credits from Spring Arbor University or two undergraduate credits from JCC, and may be applied toward recertification.

Oakley named Michigan Art Educator of Year 2006

Oakley was selected from a number of outstanding candidates for the honor, according to William Harmon, MAEA awards chairman. Oakley taught art at the high school level for eight years at Columbia Central High School in Brooklyn before starting as an adjunct instructor at JCC in 2000.
