On March 9-13, the Golden Jet Forensics team traveled to Barry College, located just outside of Rome, Ga., for the Novice National Tournament. Twenty-two colleges and universities attended the tournament, and five students represented JCC. Though none of the Golden Jets came home with national awards at their sixth tournament of the season, they were able to take their newfound experience to the Michigan Intercollegiate Speech League State Competition on March 17-18 at Eastern Michigan University. Four of the five students who attended came home with an award. Students along with their events and placing in the state competition are listed below.
"I'm really excited about where the team is going in forensics, and for the recognition provided for JCC," said David Nadolski, director of forensics, speech and debate and executive director of MISL. In just under a month the team will round out their competitive year with two public performances here at JCC. The first will take place in the JCC Celebration of the Arts, scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. April 11, where two Golden Jet forensics team members are slated to perform. The community is welcome and admission will be $5. The next and final performance will take place April 20 at JCC in Federer Rooms A and B. There is no cost for admission and all are encouraged and welcome to attend. |
