JCC students to present trip through time in art history

Jackson Community College art history students will present a lecture series that will be open to the public over two evenings, July 26 and Aug. 2, from 7-8 p.m. at the Ella Sharp Museum.

Students in instructor Sarah Shirk’s Art 112 Art History course will present short lectures on subjects ranging from the Renaissance and the works of Leonardo Da Vinci to artists representing the international Avant-Garde since 1945. Students will offer historical perspectives and present visual samples of works from various periods.

"I wanted to incorporate a service learning element into the course," Shirk said. "While classes have given presentations to one another, I thought open presentations to the public would be a good experience for them."

Cost for community members interested in attending will be $3. JCC students or employees may attend at no charge. For more information, call (517) 796-8582.
