Jackson Community College’s Director of Multicultural Relations Lee Hampton has been invited to Washington, D.C. to participate in the Senate Leadership Summit for Young Professionals on Sept. 19-20. Hampton was nominated by U.S. Congressman Joe Schwarz.

Hampton will be one of 300 young leaders from across the nation to participate in the Summit. The policy Summit will bring together government leaders and outstanding young professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 to discuss proposals to create more entrepreneurs, jobs, and wealth; strengthen U.S. competitiveness and technology; and provide innovative and affordable quality health care. U.S. senators, representatives from the Bush Administration, and other experts from both industry and academia will be Summit speakers.

“I am honored to have been selected to attend the Leadership Summit and look forward to gathering information and sharing ideas with the other young professionals and the leaders of our country,” Hampton said. “I’m hoping to utilize the information that I receive, to help better develop me personally and to be of greater service to JCC and the greater Jackson community.”

Hampton joined the administration at JCC as director of multicultural relations in 2005.
