JCC marketing honored at regional conference
Jackson Community College’s marketing and communications department was honored recently with 12 awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations District 3 Medallions Competition.
The Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in marketing and communications at community, junior and technical colleges. Medallions for Gold, Silver and Bronze places were presented in a variety of categories earlier this week at the district conference in Grand Rapids. JCC staff members received the following honors:
- Newsletter, Silver Medallion for “News from Jackson Community College” monthly publication.
- Brochure/Flyer in two ink colors, Gold Medallion for Kids College brochure.
- Nifty and Thrifty, creative and economical publications produced entirely in house, Gold Medallion for JCC scholarships booklet.
- Magazine (2 awards), Gold Medallion for alumni magazine “JCC Today,” and a Silver Medallion for “Career Choices” magazine.
- Outdoor Advertising (billboards), Silver Medallion for “I chose JCC” series.
- Print Ads – Single, Gold Medallion for “I chose JCC” full-page magazine ad.
- Video Ad/PSA – Series, Bronze Medallion for “I chose JCC” series of TV commercials.
- College Promotional Video – Bronze Medallion for high school promotional video.
- Feature Article/General News Story – Bronze Medallion for “Accounting for success: Careers in the field of accounting add up at all levels,” published in Fall 2006 Career Choices magazine.
- Web site – Silver Medallion for JCC web site.
- Recruitment Marketing Campaign – Silver Medallion for “I chose JCC” series of newspaper and magazine print ads, billboards, TV and radio commercials.
JCC’s marketing office staff is comprised of: Dotty Karkheck, director; Chris Detmer, web designer and video producer; Lisa Drake, graphic designer; and Marilynn Fryer, writer.
NCMPR is an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges. District 3 consists of colleges from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and Ontario.
