O’Chemistry show to explore ‘States of Matter’

Turn young people onto science at Jackson Community College’s “O’Chemistry IV: States of Matter,” to be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in the Michael Baughman Theatre in Potter Center.

Dr. Mark Ott and John Singer, who teach chemistry at JCC, will demonstrate a number of easy-to-understand experiments to show young people the properties of the different states of matter, solids, liquids and gases. They will also present several exciting experiments that show compounds change from one state to another.

“Everyday things around us will be explained in context and how their properties are actually important for our very existence,” Ott said.

Young minds of all ages will be excited by the variety of chemistry experiments explained in a simple way. This will be a free demonstration, but come early for the best seats! Any questions, please call (517) 796-8574.
