JCC student housing to begin accepting applications for residents
Jackson Community College’s new student housing, Campus View, is now accepting applications for residents for Fall 2007 semester.
Campus View student housing is currently under construction and will be ready for occupancy in time for the Fall 2007 semester. Living on campus provides students with the convenience of being near classes, increased opportunities for friendships with classmates, and the opportunity for independent living. Students who live on-campus generally are more satisfied with college and more likely to persist and graduate, interact more frequently with faculty and peers in informal settings, and participate in a greater number of social and cultural events on campus, studies show.
Campus View features 24 four-bedroom units, designed for one person per bedroom. Two residents will share a bathroom, with extra vanity sink. Units feature high-speed Internet hookup, phone and cable TV ready connections, and a storage room for bikes, golf clubs and other items. The facility features laundry and vending machines, convenient parking and numerous security measures for residents’ safety.
Rent for the units will be $425 per month, per person. A $125 non-refundable deposit will reserve your space, and will be deducted from the security deposit of $425, required before move-in. Rent may be paid with financial aid funds, and is also eligible for the JCC FACTS payment plan.
Current students may reserve their space beginning Monday, Dec. 11, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Victor Cuiss Fieldhouse. For more information or to reserve a space, contact Sandy Orta at the JCC Fieldhouse, 517.796.8455. The application form will also be available online at www.jccmi.edu/campusview. It may be printed and faxed in to 517.796.8624.
