Hands-on art: JCC to present ‘Facial Vision’ art show

A photography exhibit for the blind and visually impaired as well as sighted, featuring a tactile approach, is coming to Jackson Community College. JCC will present “Facial Vision,” a Hands-on Art Show of people who are blind, visually impaired or sighted, from Sept. 5-26, 2006, in the Potter Center Art Gallery.
Hampton to attend Senate Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C.

Jackson Community College’s Director of Multicultural Relations Lee Hampton has been invited to Washington, D.C. to participate in the Senate Leadership Summit for Young Professionals on Sept. 19-20. Hampton was nominated by U.S. Congressman Joe Schwarz.
Baseball tryouts to be held Friday

Jackson Community College will host tryouts for the men’s baseball team this Friday, Aug. 25, from noon to 2 p.m. on the JCC field, main campus. Those interested should come prepared for fitness testing.
JCC to offer courses that begin after Labor Day

For parents whose children don't go back to school until after Labor Day, Jackson Community College has scheduled a number of college classes to begin after that time. JCC's Fall semester begins Aug. 21, but many classes are slated to begin "Session II" after Labor Day.
JCC hosts auditions for 'Little Mary Sunshine'

Jackson Community College will host open auditions for the fall production of "Little Mary Sunshine," a musical, from 6-8:30 p.m. on Aug. 30 and 31 in the Baughman Theatre, Potter Center.
