Lansing poet to speak at JCC
Jackson Community College will welcome poet, artist and teacher Tim Lane who will read from his original work to a JCC creative writing class at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, in Federer Room A, Potter Center.
Lane lives in Lansing and has a master’s degree in creative writing from Michigan State University. His artwork has been shown in Lansing, Saginaw, Flint, Detroit, Minneapolis, South Bend and Washington, D.C. His poetry has appeared in a diverse handful of print and online journals, including “Big Bridge,” “Cranky,” “canwehaveourballback.com,” “The Potomac” and “shampoopoetry.com.” In addition to writing and painting, he edits a journal and coordinates the Magdalena’s Tea House Open Mic Poetry Reading Series.
This event is hosted in conjunction with instructor John Yohe’s creative writing class, but is free and open to the public!
