August 7th, 2007 For immediate release Computer animation and 3-D modeling class starting this Fall at JCCInterested in computer animation that powers today’s video games and electronic resources? Jackson Community College will offer an introduction to the world of computer modeling and animation this Fall in the Computer Information Systems class, 3-D Modeling 1. “This class is a good fit for the technical and artistic mind,” said Jason Welsh, an adjunct instructor who has taught for several years at the Jackson Area Career Center and is a freelance animator and artist. Students will learn the basic modeling techniques in a high-end animation program called Maya. The class will focus on character design and environmental modeling. These techniques may be used in creating video games, training DVDs for industry such as automotive, commercials and more.
