Manufacturing training offered in Jackson
Training classes for manufacturing professionals are continuing in Jackson, with the third of a five-part module to soon be offered by Jackson Community College through the Business & Industry Support Center.
The APICS Association for Operations Management’s Certified in Production and Inventory Management program educates manufacturing professionals on essential terminology, concepts and strategies related to demand management, procurement and supplier planning, material requirements planning, capacity requirements planning, sales and operations planning and master scheduling.
BISC will be beginning the third of this five-module Production and Inventory Management program on Thursday, Sept. 13, to be offered at the Jackson campus in Justin Whiting Hall Room 101. This nine-week course will cover Detailed Scheduling and Planning (DSP). Topics will include:
- • Recognizing techniques and practices of inventory management
- • Mechanics of the detailed material planning process
- • Planning operations to support the priority plan
- • Planning procurement and external sources of supply
Classes will be led by an APICS instructor who is certified in the classes they are teaching. Each of the five modules in the program has their own optional assessment and certification attached to them. Because of this each course stands alone, and participants may enter the series at any time. If you prefer to enter the series at the beginning we will be offering the first module, Basics of Supply Chain Management at the JCC @ VO-TECH campus in Adrian beginning Aug. 22.
