JCC students present Fall production, 'When You Comin' Back, Red Ryder?'
Jackson Community College students are taking on a challenging drama for their Fall season production, “When You Comin’ Back, Red Ryder” This play will be presented at 8 p.m. Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27 and at 3 p.m. Oct. 21 and 28 in the Ruth Day Theatre, Potter Center.
“When You Comin’ Back, Red Ryder?” tells the story of a small New Mexico diner that lost most of its customers when a new highway bypass opened. Into the monotonous daily grind of the diner’s usuals come a couple of strangers, an unbalanced Vietnam War veteran and his hippie girlfriend, who complicate issues and force others to take hard looks at themselves. It does contain strong language and mature situations.

The play was written in 1973 by Mark Medoff, who also wrote “Children of a
Lesser God.” It was adapted for the big screen and made into a film in
1979.
