Manufacturing training for beginners to be offered 

Jackson Community College, in cooperation with APICS, will soon begin offering training for entry-level manufacturing professionals as part of the Fundamentals of Materials and Operations Management program offered by the Business & Industry Support Center. The first of four courses, Fundamentals of Inventory Control, begins Jan. 14, 2008 at JCC’s Jackson campus.

APICS’, The Association for Operations Management, Fundamentals of Materials and Operations Management program educates participants on the essential terminology, concepts and strategies relating to inventory control, planning, manufacturing control and operations management. This program will help to strengthen the participants’ knowledge that can be applied in the workplace. The first course introduces a variety of topics including inventory management, forecasting, warehousing management, distribution requirements planning, purchasing, Total Quality Management and more. 

This course will meet from 6-9 p.m. in Bert Walker Hall Room 101 and run for 12 weeks.  Cost is $699 per student and includes materials.
