Outstanding student employees are nominated by various department personnel, and judged by committee according to their reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism, and uniqueness of their contribution.
JCC’s Patricia Kelley Emerson named to USA Today All-Academic First Team

Jackson Community College is pleased to announce that student Patricia Kelley Emerson has been named to the All-USA Academic First Team for two-year colleges by USA Today and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. In addition, she is the New Century Scholar for the state of Michigan.
JCC Spring/Summer registration to begin soon

Jackson Community College will begin registration for Spring/Summer semester on Monday, April 16 for students at all locations. Returning students may register online beginning April 14.
JCC service to community recognized

Over the past three years, JCC students have contributed 34,000 hours of service to the community through service learning, and these efforts have been recognized by the 2006 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. The honor roll recognizes institutions of higher education that encourage and support noteworthy student community service efforts.
JCC cross country runners honored for academic achievement

Jackson Community College congratulates four members of the 2006 women’s cross country team who recently received Academic All-American Honors by the National Junior College Athletic Association.
JCC’s Mary Belknap named to state teacher standards commission

Jackson Community College Professor Mary Belknap was recently named to the Michigan Department of Education’s Professional Standards Commission for Teachers in the state. She will serve as the community college representative and be one of four higher education professionals on the commission.
JCC student art show begins April 10

Jackson Community College art students will present their Student Art Show beginning with a reception at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 10 in the Potter Center. The show will be up through May 9, JCC’s commencement.

Financial aid workshop planned at JCC

Jackson Community College will host a free hands-on financial aid workshop for students and parents to learn about filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form on Monday, April 23 from 6-8 p.m. in Justin Whiting Hall, Room 103, on JCC’s main campus.
