Jackson Community College is pleased to congratulate athletes who earned academic honors in the Michigan Community College Athletic Conference for 2007.
Achieving the Dream: JCC selected as part of national initiative

Jackson Community College officials are pleased to announce that the College has been selected to join Achieving the Dream: Community Colleges Count, a national initiative to help more community college students succeed. The College is one of six from Michigan, and 26 overall, joining the initiative this year. The initiative has now grown to 84 participating institutions in 15 states.
JCC to officially open Campus View with ribbon-cutting ceremony

Jackson Community College will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Campus View living and learning community at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 27. Campus View represents JCC’s first venture into on-campus student housing.
GED Tests to be offered at Michigan Works! Jackson site

Jackson Community College will begin offering the GED Tests in July for adults who have not graduated from high school. Tests will be administered on two alternate Fridays in July, July 13 & 27, at the South Central Michigan Works! office, located in the Commonwealth Commerce Center, Jackson.
Truck Driver Training Academy Open House Welcomes Future Drivers

Jackson Community College’s Truck Driver Training Academy hosted a successful open house Saturday, June 9, at its site at 1300 Falahee Road, Jackson. Attendance was strong with nearly 75 interested individuals receiving information about truck driving opportunities.

Enjoy some great outdoor music as Jackson Community College hosts the Front Porch Concert Series this June. The Front Porch Series welcomes community members to campus to enjoy great music in a comfortable, outdoor setting, on the “front porch” of the Potter Center facing the south parking lot.
MCCAA votes unanimously to make JCC full member

Jackson Community College is pleased to announce that the College has been fully accepted as a regular member of the Michigan Community College Athletic Association league. The College joined the MCCAA a year ago as a provisional member after reinstating intercollegiate athletics following a 25-year absence.
JCC to host basketball camps this summer

Jackson Community College will host two summer basketball camps for boys and girls. A youth fundamentals basketball camp, designed for girls and boys in grades 5-8, will be held Aug. 6-7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Victor Cuiss Fieldhouse.
Truck Driver Training Academy to host open house Saturday

Jackson Community College’s Truck Driver Training Academy will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 pm. Saturday, June 9, at its site at 1300 Falahee Road, Jackson. JCC is now offering truck driver training in cooperation with HR Career Development at the Commercial Exchange site in Michigan Center.

Sports fans may bid on several exciting auctions items and packages at the upcoming fundraiser welcoming Coach Tony Dungy of the Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears Coach Lovie Smith, and Detroit Lions Coach Rod Marinelli, on Friday, June 15. Doors open at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. in the Community Events Center, on JCC’s main campus.

College to launch new Army ROTC program with EMU, SAU

Jackson Community College will offer a new Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, or ROTC, program this Fall, presented in cooperation with Eastern Michigan University (EMU) and Spring Arbor University (SAU).
