Celebrate holidays with The Lettermen Christmas at JCC

Jackson Community College will welcome the legendary singing group The Lettermen in concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5 in the Harold Sheffer Music Hall, Potter Center.

The Lettermen have the perfect yuletide celebration in this concert. Tony Butala (the founder of The Lettermen), Donavan Tea and Mark Preston will put you in the holiday mood with favorites such as “Sleigh Ride,” “Mary’s Boy Child,” “The Christmas Song,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Away In a Manger” and more!

The Lettermen first came together as a musical revue in Las Vegas in 1958, and were signed to Warner Brothers Records in 1960. They recorded on Capitol Records in 1961, and the hit “The Way You Look Tonight” was actually on the B-side of another release. Their second single was “When I Fall in Love,” and over the next two decades released a string of singles, including “Theme From a Summer Place,” “Goin’ Out of My Head/Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” and “Hurt So Bad.”  They have continued to record, averaging at least one album a year.

Tickets for The Lettermen Christmas are $28, $25 and $22 and may be purchased by calling 517.796.8600 or visit www.jccmi.edu.
