Money for attending JCC available! Apply for scholarships now

Economic times may be tough, but financial help is available for a college education. Jackson Community College offers hundreds of thousands of dollars to students each year in scholarships to help pay for the cost of attending JCC. If you’re thinking about enrolling during the 2008-09 academic year that begins in August, the time is now to apply for your chance to receive scholarship monies from JCC.

JCC offers both institutional scholarships and private scholarships from the Jackson Community College Foundation.

·        JCC Presidential Scholarships are available to high school seniors with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 who plan on attending JCC full-time in the Fall. Deadline for applications is March 6. This is a $1,500 scholarship divided equally between Fall and Winter semesters, and is renewable a second year provided the student maintains a 3.0 GPA and full-time status.

·        The JCC Foundation offers more than 60 private scholarships each year to a variety of different students; some are based on academic performance, some on financial need, some on career field, and more. Last year, the Foundation awarded $200,000 in scholarship money to help more than 160 students achieve their dreams. The Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2008-09 academic year beginning in the Fall, and deadline is March 13.
