Men’s soccer was announced earlier this month. “We have been looking at having both men’s and women’s soccer, and now we’ve decided to go ahead with women’s soccer,” said Stephen Bloomfield, JCC athletic director and assistant dean for student life. “The game of soccer is popular for both men and for women.” JCC will compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I women’s soccer. Twelve scholarships will be awarded to soccer players to build the team. Bloomfield said they will now begin the search process for a women’s team coach. This will make nine intercollegiate sports teams for the JCC Jets: men’s and women’s cross country, men’s baseball and women’s softball, women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s soccer. |
