Jets women named to All Conference teams

Jackson Community College’s Jets women’s basketball team players have received honors for their inaugural season.

  • Freshman Barbara Clayborn was voted third team All Western Conference in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association, averaging 16.5 point per game and 10.5 rebounds per game. Clayborn represented JCC at the women’s Western Conference All-Star game this past Sunday at Lansing Community College.
  • Freshman Samantha Budd was voted Honorable Mention All Western Conference in the MCCAA, averaging over 13.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
  • Sophomore Courtney Lusk was also voted Honorable Mention All Western Conference in the MCCAA, averaging 11.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and nearly 3 assists per game.

This was an exciting first year for our women’s team,” said head coach Andy Hoaglin. “I’m proud of the effort of the team in assisting these young ladies in receiving these honors.  To have three women from our program recognized, shows that the Jackson community has much to offer in terms of basketball talent.  These ladies worked extremely hard and deserve the honors they received from other conference coaches.
