Schissler joins
JCC Foundation team
The Jackson
Community College Foundation is pleased to introduce Mark Schissler, Sr., new
director of donor relations for the JCC Foundation.
Prior to joining
the JCC Foundation staff in December 2007, Schissler served as the human
resources director for the Diocese of Toledo. With an extensive background in
both corporate and not-for-profit areas, Schissler’s knowledge is drawn from
years in sales, program development and management. He has been part of senior
management teams in small and medium companies as well as a Fortune 100 company.
His professional history and community service activities over the years have
been focused on connecting people, advancing programs and assisting
organizations to achieve their goals.
“I want to know
I’m contributing to an organization that has a great mission, and I believe
Jackson Community College is just that,” Schissler said. “When I look at the
needs for learning opportunities in Jackson County, I see that creating those
opportunities is what the College is all about.”
He hopes to help
reconnect the College’s large number of alumni with the “new JCC,” and hopes to
connect with businesses in the area to gain their support and to see how JCC can
continue to meet their needs.
Originally from
Baltimore, Md., Schissler has lived in Jackson for three years. He started his
education at Hartford Community College, and then finished his bachelor’s in
business administration at the University of Baltimore. He has four children,
three girls and a boy, and is active in his church and a number of community
organizations.
