Training for manufacturers to be offered at Jackson campus

Jackson Community College will offer classes for manufacturing professionals beginning soon at the Jackson campus.

The APICS Association for Operations Management’s Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) program is designed to educate manufacturing professionals on essential terminology, concepts and strategies related to demand management, procurement and supplier planning, material requirements planning, capacity requirements planning, sales and operations planning, master scheduling, performance measurements, supplier relationships, quality control and continuous improvement.

JCC’s Center for the Advancement of Business and Civic Engagement (CABCE), in cooperation with APICS, will provide classes for each module. The first class, Basics of Supply Chain Management, begins Sept. 11 from 6-9 p.m. Classes are led by an APICS instructor who is certified in the classes they teach. These classes and the material provided by APICS are aimed at those who already have some understanding of the production and inventory management field and are refreshing or upgrading their knowledge.

The additional four modules include:

  • Master Planning of Resources
  • Detailed Scheduling and Planning
  • Execution and Control of Operations
  • Strategic Management of Resources
