JCC
Set to Begin Flight Training in Adrian
Jackson Community College announced today that JCC's Aviation
Flight Technology Program, the largest of its kind in the United States,
is set to provide flight training at the Lenawee County Airport beginning
next week.
The program will provide the residents of the Lenawee County area
with the opportunity to receive flight training designed for both personal
and career goals, in a structured, professional environment. Registration for flight training will begin October 22.
JCC, who initiated their flight-training program in Jackson in
1979, will bring to the Lenawee County Airport the same flight-training
program that has flown over 54,000 accident-free hours and over 6,250,000
accident-free miles at their Jackson base.
New 2001 Cessna 172R aircraft will be utilized as well as other JCC
aircraft including a twin-engine Piper PA34 Seneca.
Ground schools to accompany the flight training will take place at
JCC's Lenawee Center.
"We're looking forward to bringing college-level flight
training to the Lenawee County area," Frazier said.
"We're excited to be a part of the Lenawee community."
According to Frazier, one exciting element of this new satellite
operation is, when used in conjunction with core courses taken at JCC's
Lenawee Center, residents of the Adrian area will be able to complete
their requirements for a degree in Aviation Technology without leaving
Lenawee County.
