Set to Laugh at "What the Butler Saw"
Oct. 24-26, Nov. 1-3,
Potter Center
The Theatre Company of Jackson Community College kicks off its
2002-03 season with the hilarious comedy of Joe Orton's comic
masterpiece, "What the Butler Saw," over two weeks, Oct. 24, 25
and 26, and again Nov. 1, 2 and 3, in the Ruth Day Theatre, Potter Center.
From the moment a
psychiatrist "compromises" his new secretary, this breakneck comedy of
lunacy races on where characters lose their identities, their clothes and
their minds. Sanity is inverted, logic is perverted, and the audience must
decide who really belongs in a straight jacket. The play does contain mature subject matter.
Gary Wetzel-Righettini, associate professor of language, literature
and the arts at JCC, directs the comedy.
Cast members include: Dr.
Prentice, Jake Anderson; Geraldine Barkey, Kristen McGlynn; Mrs. Prentice,
Mandee Christensen; Nicholas Beckett, Nate Hoff; Dr. Rance, Paul
Chamberlain; Sergeant Match, Jacob Ashley.
Evening performances begin at 8 p.m., and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m.
Tickets are $8 for adults, or $5 for students and senior citizens.
For information, call (517) 796-8600.
