Get Ready for Rose Run!
Saturday, June 12, JCC Fieldhouse
Runners take your mark, get set, and go to the 34th Annual Rose Run, Saturday, June 12, sponsored by Physicians Health Plan of Southern Michigan and organized by Jackson Community College.
The Rose Run is designed to promote fitness and provide something challenging for the community, said coordinator Mike McGlynn, professor of health and physical fitness at JCC. Funds from the Run go to support the College's health and physical fitness program. Additional sponsors include Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists, P.C., DeLaet Design and Jackson Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine.
The Rose Run is a great opportunity to participate in a competitive running event. Races include 10K and 5K runs, 4-mile walk, and children's ¼-, ½- and 1 ½-mile runs. Registration will be held at the JCC Fieldhouse on Friday, June 11, from 5:30-7 p.m., and on Saturday morning beginning at 6:30 a.m. Events kick off both at JCC's main campus and Ella Sharp Park. Transportation is provided from the College to Sharp Park for the 10K run and the 4-mile walk. Custom medals will be awarded to the top 3 in 5 year age groups for the 10K, 5K and 4-mile walk. Top three male and female runners and top two master runners in the 10K share $1,000 in prize money. All pre-registered participants receive a T-shirt.
Registration for all races open until 45 minutes prior to the start of the event. For more information or to register online, visit the web page at www.roserun.org. Forms are also available at JCC or from Step One Running Store. Call (517) 796-8455, or fax (517) 796-8624.
