Pond Scooping Program Set for Dahlem
"Polliwogs, Giants & Dragons" inhabit ponds throughout Jackson County. Learn more about these fascinating critters in a catch & release program set for 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 7 at the Dahlem Center, 7117 S. Jackson Road.
Following an orientation session with a short film and introduction to some live aquatic critters, the group will head out to explore Dahlem's manmade pond with buckets, nets and magnifiers. Equipment will be supplied by the Center, but participants should dress in old sneakers and bring along their sense of adventure and curiosity. Those who wish may extend their program with a walk to some of the Center's other wetland habitats with Naturalist Diane Valen.
The program fee is $3/person (free to Dahlem members). Would-be participants are urged to pre-register by calling the Center at 782-3453.
