Dahlem Center's 'Greta Garbage' to Visit Home Schoolers

10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday, November 5, Dahlem Center

Greta Garbage, the award-winning "professor of garbology" will do special performances for home school families on Friday, November 5 at the Dahlem Environmental Education Center.  Participants can choose from a 10 a.m. or a 1 p.m. program.

Greta came to life as part of a collaborative effort with the Jackson Junior Welfare League to help local classes explore issues related to solid waste.  As a costumed character, Greta engages youngsters (& oldsters) in fun, learning adventures that look at the practical side of recycling, reusing and reducing our trash flow.  Dig into Greta's garbage bin, utilize her magic recycling machine, take an imaginary field trip, sing, laugh and learn about this important environmental issue.

The program fee is $3 per person, and pre-registration is required by November 2.  The program will begin in the Dahlem Center's classroom building, located at 7117 S. Jackson Road.  To register, or obtain more information, call the Dahlem Center at 782-3453.
