Franklin University's Community College Alliance Adds Two New Online Degree Options
COLUMBUS, OH - Franklin University's Community College Alliance (CCA) announces the addition of two new majors to the lineup of online degree completion programs. Bachelor of Science degrees in Human Resources Management and Marketing will be available to students starting Fall Trimester 2005. The CCA is an online bachelor's degree completion program that combines on-campus classes at Jackson Community College with online classes through Franklin University. These new majors offer the same quality coursework as their on-site counterparts, but with the ultimate convenience of online learning. Students can work on class assignments where and when it's most convenient, making it easier to fit education into their schedules.
The Human Resources Management major combines theory with real-life scenarios, incorporating current industry practice with traditional HR concepts. Graduates of the Human Resources Management major will have a fundamental understanding of employee relations, compensation management, EEO/ Affirmative Action as well as other legal aspects of employment. The Marketing major is geared toward the ever-changing business world. Courses are updated frequently to reflect the latest marketing knowledge, technology and industry trends. Students graduating with a marketing degree will be prepared for careers in advertising, public relations, E-marketing, retail, sales and services.

The CCA program gives students the benefit of belonging to two schools at one time. They can access Franklin's resources in addition to the resources of Jackson Community College. Franklin's resources include academic advising, a help desk and a library system, to name a few.
Each CCA student is also assigned a Franklin Student Services Associate who provides support and guidance by answering questions about transcripts, financial aid, registration and any other questions that arise during their time as a Franklin student. The CCA program already offers bachelor's degrees in Accounting, Applied Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, Digital Communication, Health Care Management, Information Technology, Management, Management Information Sciences and Public Safety Management. Adults have responded enthusiastically to the convenient online format and the ability to fit classes into their busy schedules, and the program has seen steady growth since it began in 1998.
Franklin University serves more than 10,000 students annually through its on-campus programs in Columbus, Ohio, and through the Community College Alliance. 227 community colleges in 31 states have teamed with the University to serve students. In addition to offering 16 undergraduate degree programs, the 103-year-old University now has three master's degree programs, including an MBA offered in an online format. In 1999, Franklin was named as one of 15 educational organizations nationwide for a U.S. Department of Education pilot project, which ensures that federal financial aid is available to students pursuing college degrees through distance learning.
